Associate Transport Planner - Development Planning - Central Manchester

We are currently seeking an experienced Associate Transport Planner to spearhead a Transport Planning team based in Manchester. This challenging yet rewarding role will primarily involve working across the North West, supporting projects within the northern region.
As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in business development and work winning activities, collaborating closely with the Profession Director to establish and manage a dynamic transport planning team. This role is closely linked to town planning, requiring collaboration with the town planning and urbanism team.
The company are an international, multi-disciplinary consultancy with offices across the world and well over a thousand staff. They are known for their architecturally led approach and your role will allow you to collaborate with a number of disciplines including Architects, Town/Urban Planners, and Civil/Structural Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake and develop Site Access Appraisals
• Prepare Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Environmental Assessments, Travel Plans, and Sustainability Assessments
• Develop transport strategies and preliminary designs for highways schemes, including access schemes and junction improvements
• Provide planning-stage support for various development schemes
• Support the preparation of technical assessment documents and reports for planning submissions
• Assess junction performance using industry-standard traffic modelling software
• Contribute to the development of multi-modal transport strategies
• Conduct general arrangement design work for new junctions and accesses onto the road network
• Accompany Senior Consultants at project meetings and on-site visits
• Manage and develop team members
• Develop and nurture client relationships
• Assist directors in seeking out and securing new opportunities and expanding existing business
• Prepare business cases
• Engage in stakeholder consultations and public engagement
• Oversee resourcing, financial monitoring, and reporting

Your Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a Transport Planning consultancy with strong client relationships
• Degree educated, ideally in Transport Planning, Engineering, Town Planning, Geography, or other numerate degrees
• Practical knowledge of Junctions (ARCADY/PICADY), LinSig, and preferably experience with transport microsimulation software
• Experience in writing transport assessments, statements, and travel plans
• Strong understanding of relevant local and national policy and guidance
• Demonstrated success in business development leading to a strong client portfolio
