About the Team and Role
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in Gloucestershire Highways working in our Structural Maintenance Team assisting in the highway authority’s role to maintain and improve the carriageways and footways of the County.
Gloucestershire has a a highway network extending to almost 6000km across diverse landscapes including the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean and Severn Vale. The County Council is looking to recruit an Assistant Engineer Within the Structural Maintenance Team. The role assists the Senior Engineers by collecting and processing site data to inform the design process. This includes measuring and estimating potential schemes, producing preliminary designs as well as offering technical support to the wider highways teams.
About You
The ideal applicant will be a self-starter who has a background in highway works, ideally within resurfacing operations. There is a need to be methodical and organised in the approach to work. There are many separate stages to designing a scheme, all must progress smoothly, this is achieved by a robust in house tracker system. The role also assists in managing the overall budget therefore, sound administration skills are a must.
