We are looking for an ambitious and aspirational Team Leader for this permanent position within the Supporting Learners Service (Education & Learning Directorate) to lead and manage a team of Attendance Support Officers. You will guide and motivate the team to provide professional support and specialist knowledge to schools and families to support children with low school attendance and coach and mentor your team to ensure they perform to the best of their ability.
We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to improving outcomes for our children and young people and who is an experienced operational practitioner and strategic thinker. Using your outstanding communication skills, you'll collaborate with partner agencies and families to find solutions to complex education situations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and forward-thinking leader to manage and develop this established service while also contributing in a broader role as a member of the Supporting Learners Management Team. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
