Job Description
The TimesandThe Sunday Timesare looking for an Audience Editor to focus on growing and engaging our sports audiences. You will be responsible for running digital projects utilising various strands of the audience team and working with the Sport desk’s forward planner to identify areas of high digital opportunity.
You will collaborate on digital-first publishing plans that span seven days, ensuring our content engages our existing subscriber base and finds new audiences. You will closely analyse data and feed insights into commissioning editors and be a key ambassador for audience-led thinking.
You will be a core part of the Sports desk, but will be expected to share insights with the wider Audience Development team on a regular basis. You will also have the opportunity to benefit from a wealth of expertise in search engine optimisation, social media, subscriber engagement, analytics and digital strategy within this team.
Experience in sports journalism is desirable. Please indicate on your application any relevant experience you have.

Key skills
- The ability to retrieve and interpret data, then effectively communicate relevant insights
Experience in search engine optimisation and keyword research to derive new insights and recommendations for the desk
Excellent knowledge of social platforms and using them tactically to reach new audiences
The ability to execute a large project and identify audience needs and decide the most relevant growth and engagement tactics to employ
