Working within the Technology Team and reporting to the Audio-Visual Technical Manager, the Audio-Visual Technician supports all audio-visual aspects of the public facing programmes at the Museum, including visitor interactives, seminars, conferences and large public activities. This is one of the only roles at the Museum that works with all levels and departments across the Museum to support their activities, to enrich people's understanding of the sea, the exploration of space, and Britain's role in world history.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing of audio-visual interactives within the Museum's galleries; servicing and analysing audio-visual and digital interactive related issues, including fixing point of sale equipment (training provided); the configuration and setup of technical support for events, e.g. lighting/sound, live streaming, recording and editing; escalating to the AV Technical Manager as appropriate.
This is a weekend, permanent role in Band 6 - Management and Technical Specialist. Core hours of work will be 14 hours per week, working 2 days between the hours of 9am-5pm. There is potential for the role to become full time 5 days per week working weekends and 3 weekdays flexibly. Due to the nature of the work, some flexibility may be required, including the possibility of evening work.

Salary: £12,250 per annum (£31,500 pro rata)
