JOB TITLE: Audit Analyst - Commercial Banking
SALARY: £45,954 - £63,830 (dependant on location)
LOCATION(S): London, Edinburgh, Bristol
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Banking Audit team as an Audit Analyst focusing on the Banks Business & Commercial Banking and Corporate and Institutional Banking businesses. As an Audit Analyst, you will join a team of experienced auditors based in the UK where you will help in the execution of successful value adding audit engagements. You will assist the lead Auditor in developing the scope of audits and devise and execute appropriate testing during these engagements. Additionally, you will actively engage with members of the first and second lines either through audit work or Business Monitoring activities.
The role also involves owning and closing Audit issues, the application of data analytics and a mind-set to learn new products and business areas. You will work closely with a team of experienced Auditors gaining a broad exposure to the entire suite of Banking products overtime, along with associated support and second line functions.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Work with business areas to understand the processes and controls
- Work with engagement leads to assess what the key risks and controls in a business area are
- Perform testing to assess if a business area manages its’ risks effectively
- Help to write and deliver findings from audits
- Validate findings from previous audits
- Work with Portfolio Leads to monitor business performance

What you’ll need
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of the Commercial Bank working in Internal or External Audit or within a Risk Function.
- An understanding of risks and controls and a basic understanding of financial and lending products, their risks and how they generate revenues.
- Knowledge of how to use or apply data analytics tools to drive impactful audit outcomes and continuous risk monitoring.
- Whilst this role is not solely an IT Audit role, preferred candidates will have a good working knowledge of IT controls and have performed some degree of assurance work in the IT space.
- A basic understanding of the regulatory environment in the UK.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and can effectively demonstrate negotiation and influencing techniques when required.
- Adopt a collaborative, proactive and motivated approach, along with an ability to deliver with others.
- Good decision making skills and the ability to make sound judgements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and adherence to methodology requirements.
- The ability to multi-task and manage workloads and tight deadlines.

- Commercial Transaction Banking products risk or controls
