The role

You will be AAT Level 3 qualified or part way through your Level 4 studies, with experience working within an Audit or Accounts department in an accountancy practice.

The Audit and Assurance trainee role offers a competitive salary and combines work experience with fully paid study support.

You will work with our team and our clients to provide support with year-end accounts and audit through our Cloud based technology – at client premises, working from home or in the office.

We are looking for an articulate, confident and organised individual to join the team to assist us in achieving our strategic goal of being the number one advisor to owner managed businesses.

Working in the audit department the intention would be to transition into ACA training and therefore strong academic performance is important. However, our recruitment process looks at other experiences in which you’ve grown and developed. We balance your academic results alongside assessments within our recruitment process to ensure that the role is suitable for you.

Examples of day-to-day activities include:

• Carrying out analytics/controls/substantive audit testing using a mix of Cloud, AI and traditional techniques in relation to statutory and non-statutory audits as part of a team based offsite at client. premises/working from home/working from the office as required
• Attending client stock takes under supervision and by yourself.
• Preparing analyses and making postings using the firm’s accounting software to produce draft financial statements in statutory format.
• Progressing through the audit team as experience is gained will increase exposure to project management.
