Job Description
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for planning, performing and completing the audit process for each assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Client Contact
- Establish relationship with key contacts at the client.
- Ensure that clients receive an efficient and proactive service and expectations are exceeded.
- As you progress, identify issues, and agree resolution with client Manager/Partner/Director, ensuring they are up to date with the job's progress.
- Awareness of commercial aspects of clients' business and its impact on our work.
- Identify and highlight any opportunities for Evelyn Partners apparent from work undertaken.
- Regular discussions with the client to confirm progress, identify solutions to any hurdles and ensure reasonable expectations are met.
- Assist with the planning of audits and accounting assignments.
- Act as on-site audit engagement lead.
- Perform work in accordance with Evelyn Partners audit and assignment procedures, maintaining the highest level of Audit Quality and Ethical Standards.
- Ensure all areas of the work are completed with any exceptions to this being agreed with the Manager/Partner/Director.
- Prepare/review draft accounts/report and review memo (including identification of control weaknesses or areas of improvement) for review by Manager/Partner/Director.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Manager/Partner/Director.
- Identify and discuss with Manager/Partner/Director issues/problems and agree and complete appropriate actions.
- Ensure deadlines met.
- Be able to work on several different assignments at one time.
- Attendance on courses.
- Technical reading.
- Attend client meetings.
- Participate in tender proposals.
- Assist and perform training of Associates.
- Plan, assign, monitor and review work of Associates.
- Complete assessment forms of audit team.
- Undertake annual appraisals
- Prepare budgets and monitor adherence.
Key Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable audit and accounts experience gained within a professional services firm.
- Strong communication skills, both internally and directly with clients.
- Ability to motivate staff to ensure best performance.
- Demonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time.
- Strong communication skills in order to liaise with clients, directors, staff and other professionals.
- Ability to monitor costs against budget for individual clients.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA).
- Planning and Organising: must be able to plan workload to prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines and cope with pressure.
- Written and verbal communication: good written communication skills are necessary to draft correspondence with clients to explain technical issues in an easily understandable manner. Must have good inter-personal skills to be able to liaise with clients and other staff members.
- Customer Focus: meeting deadlines and responding to client needs.
- Teamwork: provide a link in the chain to supervise more junior staff members, and support partners and senior managers.
- Technical Expertise: maintain technical knowledge obtained from exam qualifications.
