About the Opportunity:
We act as auditors for organisations of every type and size. Our clients are active in all branches of commerce and industry, ranging from substantial corporations to small businesses. Although we are above all a commercially minded firm, we also act for many charities, trade unions, trade associations, professional societies and other organisations in the not for profit sector. As well as the statutory audit, we also conduct internal audits for a growing number of organisations
About the Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients across varied industries. This will include managing the client relationship and ensuring that expectations are managed accordingly. The main duties of this role include:
- Planning, supervising, and reviewing audit, accounts, and corporation tax work
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and FRS102
- Supervising junior staff and providing assistance regarding technical queries and professional development, including conducting periodic appraisals
- Performing billing management
- Some staff-related administration duties
- Ad hoc business consultancy
- Assisting in generating new business
- Other ad hoc duties in line with the role
As the role progresses, there may also be the opportunity to assist with staff recruitment.
About the Applicant:
We require an ACA or ACCA qualified candidate, with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualified
experience within a professional services environment. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:
- Proven audit experience with a wide range of clients
- Experience of UK GAAP, FRS102, and IFRS
- Experience in managing audits
- Proficient technical ability
- An awareness of corporate tax, personal tax, and indirect tax
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- A proven ability to prioritise workload
- Excellent communication skills
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
We expect the successful candidate to be an enthusiastic member of our audit department and to contribute with their ideas and experience.
It would also be desirable for the candidate to be skilled in at least some of the following packages: PROaudit; AP and Alphatax. However, training will be provided where necessary.
