Audit Manager (Accountancy Firm)
Location: Newport, Gwent
Salary: £45k - £55k + Excellent Benefits
Permanent, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours)
The Client:
Our client is a well-established Accountancy Firm, offering comprehensive support to clients, to clients, catering to both local and international financial requirements.
The Role:
As an Audit Manager, you will oversee and aid the on-site audit team, ensuring effective communication with management regarding the status of fieldwork.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain technical proficiency through training and webinars.
* Serve as the primary reference for the audit team concerning technical inquiries.
* Guide the audit team in addressing identified risks, supporting the Responsible Individual (RI) in forming an audit opinion.
* Ensure that files submitted for partner review adequately address planned risks and any emerging risks encountered during fieldwork.
* Manage client relationships and act as a representative for the firm.
* Identify opportunities, think strategically by understanding the clients needs, business, and key risks.
* Oversee people management responsibilities, including resource planning and allocation, performance management, training, and promotion recommendations.
* Regularly review and assess Work in Progress (WIP) and address overruns promptly.
* Issue bills regularly and prompt the partner for interim billing when appropriate.
Requirements:
* Previously worked as an Audit Manager or in a similar role.
* At least 5 years of experience working in UK accountancy practice.
* ACCA qualified.
* Effective communication skills.
