Becoming an Autism Support Assistant such a rewarding role as you will work 1:1 with a student to underpin their education as well as their development. The headteacher has started a drive for more Autism Support Assistants to join the school and is keen to take on those without experience; offering them the chance to train alongside seasoned professionals and state-of-the-art equipment.

As an Autism Support Assistant you will deliver essential learning to children who struggle inside of a regular classroom. Use your critical thinking and adaptive skillset you'll work alongside the class teacher making this learning accessible for autistic children. Additionally, this role enables you the freedom to work with the pupils with autism to explore their interests and develop a holistic learning style.

Autism Support Assistant - More Details

• Understanding the psychology of learning with Autism by working alongside speech and language therapists and educational psychologists,
• Become a bridge between pastoral care and education, working with partners, parents and teachers to inform on decisions made for the child,
• Use your own knowledge to design activities and alternate methods of learning to captivate autistic pupils,
• Underpinning the education of pupils by delivering lessons 1:1 and in small intervention groups.

Autism Support Assistant - Job Description

• £90-£105 per day,
• Starting ASAP
• Full-time, Long-term role,
• Term time only,
• Temp contract to turn permanent on completion of this academic year,
• Supporting the educational, mental, and physical development of pupils.

Autism Support Assistant - The ideal Candidate

• Holds a degree from a reputable university at 1:1 or 2:1,
• Level-headed and patient,
• Charismatic personality, confident and self assured,
• Have personal or professional experience with children,
• Have a genuine interest in education and SEN,
• Desire to progress.
