AddressDue to continued growth Alltrista Christchurch are seeking an additional Automation Engineer.
Responsibilities
· Capable of creating automation specification & qualification documents (URS, Validation Protocols)
· Issue RFQs for automation projects and/or generate internal quotations
· Manage the quality and cost of automation / custom equipment programs.
· Assist and facilitate the preparation of capital request applications for new projects including automation programs.
· Coordinates delivery, installation, and integration of custom equipment and robotics with assigned personnel.
· Responsible for completion of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of all automation and robotic equipment.
· Authors and maintains all relevant documentation including works instructions & standard operating procedures. Ensure thorough knowledge transfer, and training of company personnel, for safe operation and maintenance for custom equipment.
· Ensures documentation and manuals are updated, current and available to company personnel for all custom equipment.
· Ensures custom equipment is designed and manufactured in accordance with the company’s general design, component and control specifications. Actively participates in, and where relevant, identifies continuous improvement projects within the plant.
- Works with plant staff to determine processing and automation needs of the facility and provide alternatives for continuous improvement in the plant operations.
· Creates positive customer relationships.
· Maintains updated industry knowledge on methods, systems, and equipment to continuously improve quality and productivity.
· Ensures concise and constant communication is maintained with all stakeholders including Project Managers and Senior Management Team.
· Where appropriate, to contribute and provide pertinent information in relation to the company QMS and ensure that all activities carried out within the remit of the role are at all times in compliance with the QMS.
· To comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and procedures
· To effectively utilize all available resources (personnel, plant, etc.), in order to fulfil the above. Performs such individual assignments as company and / or extended management may direct.
Key Qualifications/Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
· Basic understanding of modern injection molding techniques and processes.
· Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internal and external to the company.
· Demonstratable experience in a comparable position.
· Experience in high level, PLC-programming including data tracking, indirect addressing, motion control, and sequential function charts.
· Strong automation design background, including DFM, DFA & FMEA
· Strong mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic skills relevant to state of the art automation.
· Comprehensive technical, analytical, and logical problem-solving skills.
· Competent in the use of MS Office and other commonly used PC applications.
· Comfortable and available to travel, visiting customers or vendor sites when required.
Nonessential Qualifications/Skills:
· Experience of working within ISO 13485 and specifically medical device manufacturing.
· Familiar with Fanuc, Yushin, Kuka, KM, Wittmann & Staubli robots.
· CAD and solid modelling skills.
· Minitab and data analysis skills, including DOE & Taguchi.
This is a Monday to Friday role 8.30-17.15 with early finish Friday when possible.
Salary £45K- £55K
Goal sharing bonus up to 5% per annum
