AV Technician - £30,000 - Burnley (plus travel to client sites)

My client is seeking an IT / AV Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of video wall controllers and display systems, including LCD and LED displays, display controllers, control software, and related equipment.

This role encompasses mechanical, electronic, IT, networking, and software components of the systems.

You must have a clean drivers' license.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning:

• Set up and configure video wall controller and display systems.
• Handle all mechanical, electronic, IT, networking, and software aspects of the system.

Service & Support:

• Respond to service and support inquiries via phone, email, and remote connections.
• Assist clients with troubleshooting and resolving system issues.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance at client sites to fulfil maintenance contracts.

Video Wall Controller Assembly & Testing:

• Assemble video wall controller systems, including mechanical assembly, internal wiring, software installation, and system testing at our Burnley facility (training provided).

Pre-sales Technical Support:

• Assist during client demonstrations at customer sites or our demonstration rooms.
• Provide technical support on client inquiries and project tenders.

Project Management:

• Conduct pre-installation site visits and prepare pre-installation reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with client personnel and internal teams to ensure project success.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in IT, networking, and Windows OS.
• Experience with IP video streams and IP encoding systems is highly advantageous.
• Background in audio-visual applications and installation work at client sites.
• Proficiency in mechanical, electronic, IT, network, and software aspects of projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated team.
• Willingness to travel across the UK, with potential for occasional overseas travel.
• Experience working at heights and using power tools such as drills and cutting tools is beneficial.
• Excellent literacy skills and previous experience in customer support via email and telephone.
• Technical qualification/apprenticeship in a related IT/AV/electronics field is desirable.

Security clearance will be required to work at some of their client's sites.
