About the role
We're looking for an Underwriting and Change Technician to join our team in AXA Commercial. In this role, you'll help drive workflow authorisation and operational processing through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical underwriting and process design capability, you'll be empowered to support the delivery of new and automated work-streams into our AXA GBS operation partnering with our Blueprint Project Teams and our Strategy, Portfolio and Transformation Teams.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at our Bolton office.
What you'll be doing:
Coach and support colleagues with technical and procedural aspects of underwriting to maintain efficient flow of operations.
Drive operational efficiency by supporting to deliver transformation and change using the appropriate methodology into the commercial team to support our business strategy.
Provide business support to the transformation and change projects to gather correct process and feasibility requirements
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Maintain a clear understanding and awareness of governance and change controls to ensure all changes are embedded with controls in place, including clear process mapping documents.
Undertake effective QA and Risk Audits to track compliance and effectiveness of change and capability across commercial operations.

About you

Insurance and product knowledge essential.
Underwriting licence essential.
Good level of technical underwriting expertise and overall commercial lines business knowledge, including products, systems, and processes.
Possess a strong process and design capability with the ability to think strategically to understand long and short-term business objectives.
Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Analytical skills with proven experience of adaptability to work across different activities and action planning.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
