Senior AWS DevOps Platform Engineer

Salary: £105,000 - £120,000 - 10% Bonus + Pension + Private Healthcare

Location: UK Wide base locations available - Hybrid working

The Role

You will be joining a passionate, professional, and highly skilled team of developers and AWS cloud platform engineers who specialise in agile custom software development and integration at an enterprise scale.

You will be actively working with large and enterprise scale clients on digital IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solution strategies, designs, and delivery programmes, transforming their business by delivering solutions and methodologies following best practice. You will be responsible for the Implementation and maintenance of platforms and services based on the business requirements, constraints, and strategies.

Required Experience:

• Previous Technical and Team Lead experience as a Senior / Principal AWS Platform Engineer in full end to end AWS DevOps project lifecycle Delivery.
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder Management skills.
• Experience of the DevOps Lifecycle (Plan, Code, Build, Test, Package, Deploy, Operate, Monitor)
• Working in an Agile or DevOps teams
• Supporting AWS Platform build in line with high level designs.
• Creation/validation of ADO Pipelines to support service level artifact promotion (Power BI Dashboards, Machine Learning Models, etc).
• Using agile project management tools such as Jira and AWS DevOps
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey and or understand complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Technical Skills

• Experience of AWS DevOps technologies.
• Continuous Integration systems such as Jenkins, DevOps, CircleCI or GitHub Actions.
• Scripting languages, such as Bash and PowerShell.
• Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt.
• Infrastructure-as-code technologies, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Pulumi.
• Building secure applications and infrastructure.
• SRE skills including observability and telemetry monitoring.
• HashiCorp Suite (Packer, Terraform, Vault, Vagrant, Consul).
• Containerisation using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift & Helm.
• Programming skills using languages such as Python, Go, Java, C#, and Typescript.
• Exposure and experience with other public cloud providers such as AWS and / or Google Cloud is also highly desirable.

Essentials

• Candidates must be willing to do UK based travel from time to time for projects.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and to be considered for this opportunity you will need to be SC Security Clearance eligible and be willing to undergo the SC process.
