Job description

Bakery Manager

(Overseeing production and all related operations)

 R.J. Kerr Ballymena Ltd are seeking a highly motivated, organised individual to join our Bakery Management team. This role has a varied remit including managing and monitoring production, supervising personnel, ensure quality control and  targets are achieved while maintaining excellent service standards.  The Bakery Manager requires a blend of administrative, organisational and leadership skills. They will have general business knowledge and experience of Bakery Management.

About The Role

The role:

  •  Planning, organising, monitoring the production and dispatch processes and adjusting the schedules to ensure all products are produced on time and of a high quality.
  • Create a multi-skilled, flexible workforce, with on-going training and  development, welfare and discipline of the bakery. Managing ongoing job performance of bakery team.
  • Working with the management team to implement the company’s policies and goals. 
  • Deliver business objectives, prioritise and execute plans to ensure that all targets are met (e.g. deadlines, quality, customer spec, legislation etc.)
  • Challenge, investigate and correct non-conformances e.g. quality, stock rotation, waste management etc.
  • Develop improvement plans that support and promote the drive for continuous improvement.
  • Maximise effectiveness and efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Monitor bakery, ensuring that all activities run smoothly.
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by management team.
