Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our Solihull community and outpatient respiratory teams at Solihull Hospital and involved in running of Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes across our hospital and community venues including assisting with assessments of patients with chronic respiratory diseases in a variety of settings. The role will flex depending on seasonal demand; it will support clinics and assessments however the role will initially focus on restoration of Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Open to applicants with the relevant skills to join our Multi-disciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Respiratory nurse specialists, Support Workers and admin staff. The team fosters a strong emphasis on collaborative working with the aim of streamlining patient pathways between the acute and community setting thereby providing a responsive and outcome focused service to patients, wherever they present.
Candidates need to have relevant experience, excellent communication and IT skills, a flexible approach and the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team across multiple agencies. Excellent organisational and time management skills are also essential.
Role includes participation in 7 day rotas and requires the post holder to be a car driver with use of a vehicle for business purposes. We are committed to continued professional and career development of all staff.

Qualifications
Essential
- Education to GCSE level or equivalent including English and maths
- Able to demonstrate competence in maths and written and spoken English
- Care certificate or be willing to work towards this
Experience
Essential
- Relevant therapy / health / social care experience
- Experience of dealing with people
- Experience of working in a team
- Can demonstrate a broad understanding of relevant areas of therapy, the effect of illness/critical conditions / disability on function and health and basic aims of rehabilitation
- Good understanding of the role of Therapy Support Worker in the relevant area
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in healthcare
