Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 Acute HD Staff Nurse to work in our well established team at St Helier Hospital Renal Unit covering 44 beds and patients in ITU requiring HD . This is a demanding role requiring commitment, enthusiasm and a desire for self-development. Previous experience in HD is essential.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, dynamic & well organised nurse to join our friendly team.

This role has technical and caring aspects and you will be involved in reviewing patient’s blood results, preparing and programming dialysis machines and related equipment whilst caring for and assessing patients who are undergoing acute and chronic haemodialysis.

You will be given on opportunity to learn and train Plasma Exchange as we provide this service in the Renal Unit.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of Sister/Charge Nurse is accountable for the total provision, organisation and direction of the nursing care for the patient in his/her care.

Assesses, plans and implements specialised packages of nursing of care to patients as the named nurse
