Education & professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree/ graduate diploma or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
- Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Certificated post graduate courses or equivalent in-house training in clinical specialty areas
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Membership of an RCSLT Clinical Excellence Network (CEN)

Experience
Essential criteria
- Post graduate work experience as an SLT with an adult acquired population within the acute hospital setting
- Experience of working in an MDT
- Practised as an SLT at Band 5 or above
- Completed RCSLT NQP competencies
- RCSLT Dysphagia Competent
- Knowledge and experience of a range of approaches for the management of speech/swallowing/language and cognitive communication deficits
- Experience of utilising and referring patients for instrumental swallow assessment
- Good understanding of relevant RCSLT and wider clinical guidelines relevant to rotations
- Presenting to groups
- Supervision of B5 SLTs, assistants and/or students
- Active participation in an audit or project work
- Evidence of CPD

- Evidence of sound clinical knowledge and well-established assessment and intervention and management skills for speech/swallow/communication
