Education & Professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Post-graduate training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent, leading to eligibility for Chartered Status by the British Psychological Society.
- Valid professional registration with Health Care Professions Council.
Desirable criteria
- Post-doctoral experience in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation
- Enrolled on, or keen to pursue, a course of study and supervision leading to eligibility for the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in using and interpreting psychometric neuropsychological tests
- Experience of working with patients with acquired and/or progressive neurological conditions with presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working across a range of settings including community, out-patient and in-patient
- Experience in the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts.
- Experience of working with other agencies on clinical care, including statutory and voluntary sector organisations
- Experience of working with other agencies to meet patient needs, including statutory and voluntary sector organisations
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within an inpatient neurorehabilitation setting
- Experience of working with people with challenging behaviour
- Experience of teaching and training other psychologists and MDT colleagues
- Experience of conducting complex assessments with interpreters
- Experience of supervising and line managing others
