Spire Norwich Hospital have an exciting opportunity to bring on an Engineering Assistant to join their established team on a Bank contract - this essentially is a 0-hour contract which gives you the flexibility to take shifts on when you can which can be to cover sickness / annual leave or should the hospital require additional support. The purpose of this role is to assist the Engineering Manager and work as part of the engineering team to provide a comprehensive and cost efficient service within the hospital.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- To provide an in-house day to day reactive maintenance service.
- To undertake maintenance/testing of equipment, ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations and legislative guidance.
- Assist in implementation and preventative maintenance programme for all building services, equipment and associated records.
- To identify personal training and development requirements, and to discuss appropriate solutions with their line manager.
- To liaise with external contractors providing specialist services to building/building services/equipment.
- To provide out of hours emergency on-call service.
- To complete weekly records of plant and services to ensure within required parameters.
- To order materials required for maintenance purposes ensuring appropriate levels of back-up stocks, and proper storage and security.
- To deputise in the absence of the Engineering Manager and undertake any other duties as assigned
- To attend 100% mandatory training and relevant ongoing professional development.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified as Mechanical Tradesmen to City & Guilds equivalent
- Post qualification experience
- Although you are not required to work certain shifts, we are looking for someone who can offer flexibility to work multiple days p/week ideally.
- Must have right to work in the UK - This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
