Bank Worker - Community Crisis Intervention Service

The CCIS Service in Derry/ Londonderry offers crisis support for those at risk of self-injurious behaviours and Suicidal ideation. The team operate a weekend service between Thursday and Sunday (as below). Bank workers are important to the SERVICE AND will work closely with core staff to ensure a person-centred and professional service is offered to clients at all times. Each Crisis session is operated by a small team and it is expected that all staff will work together to support individuals and their families during and after mental health crisis. Engaging directly with individuals who are in crisis due to mental ill health and suicidal ideation within a small team of staff. Provide crisis response through direct face-to-face and telephone support to de-escalate those experiencing mental health crisis. Work closely with core staff team to develop knowledge and skills to ensure professional service is available to all clients Each session aims to operate a two-person team operating outside of normal working hours, including weekend work. Liaise with emergency and other support services, in addition to signposting to local community/ statutory supports Lone working may be required for one-to-one client sessions in the office with other staff present. Recording contacts appropriately, including any safeguarding concerns Training provided.

Minimum of 4 GCSE's A-C including English and Maths or equivalent.

An ability and willingness to work to a rota that includes weekdays, evenings and weekends.

IT competent, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Registered or be willing to register for NISCC before commencement of shifts (you will be required to provide evidence of NISCC registration)

Minimum of 1 years experience working with service users who experience mental health difficulties and/or mental health crisis.

Motivational Interviewing.

Mental Health First Aid.

Use of Safety Planning.

Completed Assist or Storm Training.
