Behaviour Manager - Secondary School

Reed / LTA are seeking a dedicatedBehaviour Manager to come and support a 'Good' Secondary School in the Chorley area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing the school ethos that supports pupil resilience, involvement, and sense of belonging, ensuring all pupils enjoy school life and fulfil their potential.

Location: Chorley

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (The role has the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Start date: ASAP

Day to Day of the role:

• Collaborate with the Behaviour Manager and SLT to promote a whole-school approach to good behaviour and participation in learning.
• Lead in managing pupil behaviour for specified year groups and exemplify the school’s safeguarding policy.
• Liaise with teaching staff to provide behaviour support to targeted pupils, raising engagement and overcoming behavioural barriers.
• Develop individual action plans for targeted pupils and work with an allocated group as required.
• Engage with parents/carers to address poor behaviour and undertake home visits to secure positive family support.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil behaviour, implementing plans and reporting on progress.
• Be a visible presence around the school at key times, developing behavioural nurture groups.
• Coordinate and monitor tutor/pastoral behavioural systems and support form tutors in mentoring and disciplining pupils.
• Investigate student incidents and suggest follow-up actions in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy.
• Stay updated with current practices in behaviour management and roll out effective strategies to targeted students.
• Coordinate with staff and external agencies to ensure comprehensive behaviour support is provided.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in behaviour management within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of policies and procedures related to behaviour and safeguarding.
• Ability to develop and implement effective behaviour support plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with pupils, staff, and external agencies.
• Proactive in staying informed about best practices in behaviour management.
