We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join TimePlan Education in Southampton and work in schools across the city. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing tailored support to individuals with behavioural challenges, ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to individuals with behavioural challenges, implementing strategies to promote
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes understanding, acceptance, and respect for individuals with diverse needs.
- Utilize effective communication skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families, maintaining open lines of communication to address concerns and collaborate on solutions.
- Support individuals in developing essential life skills, promoting independence, self-regulation, and social skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to implement inclusive classroom strategies and accommodations, ensuring the needs of individuals with behavioural challenges are met effectively.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in behaviour management, positive reinforcement techniques, and inclusive practices.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or support services setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management principles, positive reinforcement techniques, and strategies for promoting emotional well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility, empathy, and professionalism.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity in all aspects of support and service delivery.
