Axcis have a vacancy for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant at a well respected secondary special needs school in Brixham. The role is full-time, five days a week 8:30-3.30. You will be providing general in class support and will be supporting the teacher and working with small groups of up to seven young people. The pupil school has a "good" Ofsted rating and is well respected in the local community. There is excellent potential for progression in this school, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work. The school is easily accessed by bus and train. For this position you will need to be an experienced Behaviour Support TA with effective classroom management skills. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. Empathy and understanding are a must as many of the pupils have difficult home lives and challenging behaviour. This is your chance to really make a difference in these young peoples lives. The right candidate will have experience of working with students who have SEMH needs and challenging behaviour and preferably will have Team Teach training.
