BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT WORKER

Salary: £85 - £95 per day, depending on experience

Leader Education are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Specialist School Support Staff in our partnered Leeds schools.
Leader Education is currently recruiting for a number of Behaviour Support Workers for a specialist school in Leeds, to support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis.
This specialist schools provides education and support for pupils who have been identified as having Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Pupils range from those who have been excluded from mainstream education to pupils on time limited turn around placements who are at risk of being excluded from mainstream settings. Pupils may also have additional SEN needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with children and students with additional/SEMH needs in an educational setting. Transferrable skills from similar sectors will also be considered. Team Teach training is advantageous, however free training will be provided if needed.
The job:
Providing support to students with SEMH needs in an educational setting either 1:1 or in a small group
Working in close partnership with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes and academic progression
Forming strong relationships with children and young people, and their families, which influence them to regulate their behaviour and emotions
Helping students in achieving the objectives set out in their Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), by adopting a nurturing approach
Ensuring the best quality of education and support for each student.You:
Have previous experience in working with children with SEMH needs
Will be patient, nurturing, resilient and empathetic to students' individual needs
Have the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with the child/children that you work with
Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
Are a motivated and enthusiastic person with great communication skills
Will ideally be Team Teach trained but not essential - free training is available
Able to work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.Leader Education can offer:
