About The Role

Come and work with us - we are looking for someone to join us as soon as possible to bolster the strategic performance and business intelligence needs of our Adults & Housing directorate. This is an exciting time to join the central Business Intelligence (BI) & Performance Service as we explore new approaches in data science and analytics.
We are looking for a highly experienced BI and Performance professional, with expertise in the areas of Adults and Housing performance and reporting. As a Business Partner you will work with our Adults and Housing Directorate to shape BI, Data and Performance reporting and the use of new data applications and analytics.
Using your well-developed professional BI & Performance experience, you will be able to identify creative BI & Data solutions to address a range of insight, intelligence, and reporting challenges, and we hope that you will use your customer-focused attitude to contribute to the success of the team.
Key stakeholders will include the council’s senior leadership team, directorate management team, operational managers, project teams, internal ICT and digital colleagues and any regional benchmarking groups.
We adopt an agile approach to working, with opportunities to work either in the office or remotely depending on the activity. We encourage collaborative working across the team, where projects can often overlap team areas. As a service we also like to make full use of the technology available to us, including hybrid facilities which allow for with a mix of in-person and remote in the same setting.
This is a strategic role where you will be actively partnering with the Adults and Housing leadership team, supporting them by proactively identifying opportunities for Business Intelligence, performance reporting and the use of data to both improve and transform ways of working. You will also use your significant influencing skills to ensure that activity is carried out in support of the council’s wider strategic objectives and overarching council plan. Importantly, as part of the BI & Performance management team, you will help to guide the future direction of the central Business Intelligence and Performance service.

About Us
The BI & Performance Service is responsible for providing high-quality, accurate and timely business intelligence and performance information across the council. We are a centralised service with a very broad remit, making working here both exciting and unique! As a Service we have been busy developing new strategic data products and have just agreed an exciting 5-year Data & BI strategy. The work we do has a big impact and is central to delivering on the council’s ambitions to become an ever more data-driven organisation. We provide business intelligence to aid our senior leadership team, elected councillors, and directorate teams and cover the following areas:
- Data Science
- Performance, Data & Analytics (including Adult Social Care and Children’s Reporting)
- Central strategic Policy & Research
- Risk Management
You will work closely with our internal Performance & Analytics team and be the key point of contact between the BI and Performance service and the Adults & Housing directorate.
