2. Purpose of Position
This is a new role within Badger Meter. The ideal candidate would bring their experience from previous positions to build out internal processes and manage the bids projects in our international region (UK, EMEA, Middle East & APAC).
The purpose of the position is to produce high quality and professionally written content for prequalification and bid submissions. In additional to the bid submissions the role will also include preparing and conducting research for submissions as directed. The role will include collaboration with various departments and seniority levels throughout the company as well as with third party customers and the established bids team in the USA.
3. Main duties
- Providing professional bid support.
- Working with regional teams to secure positions on local regional frameworks and call off projects.
- Developing and managing the bid plan, including bid programme/responsibility matrix, all trackers, reminders, resource schedule and bid governance.
- Ensuring submissions and project documents are compliant, high quality and delivered on time. Where required, work with graphics teams to produce high quality images and graphics to improve the presentation of documents. Manage the presentation of the submission and issue to the client.
- Managing the review process, distribute answer plans (first and second drafts), external review.
- Developing market intelligence and bid strategies that exceed customer expectations.
- Generating written responses that are completed to a high standard and are compliant, clear and customer focussed.
- Direct and indirect (distributor led) bid management.
- Bringing international best practices and continuous improvement.
- Creating and mapping the bid process for the company.
- Reviewing existing policy and procedure and enacting any changes.
- Freeing up valuable sales time which is currently consumed by bids.
- Carry out all duties and responsibilities in a manner that supports Badger Meter vision and mission and core values.
- Providing a professional image to our customers.
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety and ethics at all times.

Desirable
- 3 – 5+ years’ experience in similar role.
- Professional membership of the Association of Bid Proposal Management Professionals.
- It will be important to have a detailed understanding and experience of framework bids.
The role will require regular travel to Badger Meter location in Germany and occasional travel domestically and to other international locations.
