Control, Deals, Accounting and Risk (CDAR)

Working in CDAR
Organisations have to be more aware and responsive to the risks and opportunities facing them. In the initial years of this graduate pathway, you'll be deeply involved in understanding and assessing a client's business processes including operational, regulatory and financial. This will include their IT environment, supply chain, deals environment, accounting frameworks and reporting structures. You'll identify and review the risks and provide recommendations to further enhance their design and operation.
The CDAR Experience
You'll be part of a practice that amongst other services, deals with corporate governance, internal audit and business resilience. You'll develop in-depth core business advisory skills and an understanding of different controls and accounting frameworks through exposure to a variety of businesses and industries. These will range from large multinationals and government departments to new and growing businesses.
Programme
Open to all, this vacancy is aimed primarily at inspiring and supporting Black students seeking an experience in professional services as part of our commitment to improve diversity across the organisation. The programme focuses on developing confidence and skills and provides an insight into the opportunities available at PwC.
During this three-day paid programme you'll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like. You'll meet mentors and buddies who'll represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You'll meet some of our Female colleagues to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as from some of our networks focussed on Inclusion and Diversity. Through interactive sessions the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. Our Black Talent in Business programme will be a 3-day paid programme, 16 - 18 April 2024. You will need to be in the UK to complete this programme.
What you'll do
Alongside our internal training offerings, you'll gain a blend of commercial, technical, financial and data, governance and accounting experiences working with iconic clients from either Financial Services or Commercial & Government industry sectors. In some teams you may get the opportunity to specialise in an industry from early in your career, however most of our joiners will work across multiple sectors from the beginning.
you'll quickly develop your communication skills and business acumen through interaction with a wide range of stakeholders at client sites, where you'll be sharing results of your work and recommendations you'll be at the spearhead of developing technologies, learning how to utilise these as part of the projects you work on including process mining and data wrangling you'll deploy solutions through the use of tools and applications to enable us to provide insight to clients on how their Risk Management processes compare to their peers you'll also have the opportunity to support our risk transformation teams developing innovative technology based solutions to solve the problems our clients face.

What's more, you'll be able to join a number of technology communities deploying problem-centric thinking and driving awareness and upskilling of the different technologies that we have developed.
What you'll need
You'll need to be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.
You'll need to be a first year undergraduate university student on a three-year degree course; or
You'll need to be a second year undergraduate university students on a four-year degree course.
During the Black Talent in Business programme, you will be assessed using a variety of methods to deem your eligibility to be offered a place on our Summer Internship programme 2025. By applying to the Black Talent in Business programme, you are confirming that you will be available to complete the Summer Internship programme in July 2025 should you receive a subsequent offer.

We'll ask for your office preference locations during the recruitment process. If you successfully complete the recruitment process we'll then let you know which office you will be based in during the three-day programme by the end of February. Please be aware that we may not be able to offer you your top office location.
