Bodyshop Manager

As we continue to grow, ABL 1 Touch are looking to recruit a Bodyshop Managerto join our Team based in Maidstone.

As a Bodyshop Manager, you will play the leading role in the running of our Production Workshop, overseeing site and employee performance, safety, quality and customer service. You will ensure that policy and process is followed, and consistency maintained across all workshop operations and that a safe working environment is operated and maintained at all times.

Responsibilities of a Bodyshop Manager will include:

  • Deliver accurate planning and forecasting to deliver JPD in line with business strategy and budget
  • Engage, motivate and lead the team to deliver the required production output
  • Manage day to day activities to ensure efficient use of time and resource
  • Produce accurate job cards with methods ensuring all paperwork is followed and completed comprehensively
  • Adhere to company processes across parts, site control, sub contracting and valeting
  • Complete monthly audits to the required schedule, ensuring any follow up required is documented and actioned
  • Complete the month end production pack within 2 working days of month end
  • Work with your Regional Manager on constraints to productivity and maintenance
  • Monitor, maintain and improve safety and quality standards, ensuring they are at the heart of everything
  • Proactively lead on recruitment for your site, help identify candidates, interview and assess and keep the candidate engaged before they start
  • Carry out regular 121’s with all of the team, identifying and addressing any issues across performance, attendance, training, development and wellbeing
  • Deal with customer complaints efficiently and ensure issues are resolved to instil customer confidence
  • Encourage customers to leave positive reviews across various platforms (insurer, google, Trustpilot) to deliver NPS and CSI targets

Skills and experience required as a Bodyshop Manager:

  • Previous experience as a site / Bodyshop in the automotive industry, with a track record of running a large or high performing site
  • Strong people management experience, managing large teams and with the ability to lead a team to deliver results
  • Experience of running a brand new site and embedding process and quality would be advantageous
  • Motor manufacturer qualifications and experience and an understanding of modern repair processes and techniques
  • Pro-active approach to managing the customer journey – customer focused and eager to get it right first time
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organised with an ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload
  • Good attention to detail and comfortable using MS office
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Upbeat and friendly personality
  • Technical skills, knowledge and experience of body and paint repair in the retail motor industry
