As a Bodyshop Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of our bodyshop facility. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the workflow, ensuring quality standards are met, and providing leadership to a team of skilled technicians. Your role will be crucial in maintaining efficiency, optimizing resources, and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop Coordination: Efficiently plan and coordinate the workflow within the bodyshop, ensuring that repairs are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to a team of technicians, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and performance.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to ensure that all repairs meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
- Resource Optimization: Manage resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Customer Interaction: Act as a point of contact for customers, providing updates on the status of their vehicle repairs and addressing any concerns or inquiries in a professional and customer-centric manner.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a solid understanding of automotive repair processes, stay informed about industry trends, and provide technical guidance to the team as needed.
- Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among the team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs, parts usage, and other relevant information. Generate reports as needed for management review.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced efficiency in the workshop. Implement best practices to achieve operational excellence.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the automotive bodyshop industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive repair processes and industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using relevant software for scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in an automotive workshop setting.
