Crowe Watson Recruitment, a leading recruitment specialist in the accountancy sector, is delighted to partner with a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants in Derby to seek a dedicated and skilled Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is keen to excel in a dynamic environment and become a vital part of a professional team.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and assisting in the preparation of accounts. You will work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded timely and accurately. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in their work.

Responsibilities:

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities for a range of clients.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual accounts.
• Reconciling bank statements and managing financial records.
• Preparing VAT returns and handling other tax-related matters.
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide financial advice.
• Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment.

Requirements:

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment.
