Our Birmingham based client is currently looking for a Brake Press Setter Operator. They are a machining and fabrication specialist who pride themselves on quality and precision engineering.
Due to expansion and new machinery a great opportunity has become available for an experienced confident Brake Press Setter Operator to join their workforce.
The Brake Press Setter Operator role requires a highly skilled professional responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of Brake Press machinery.
What you'll do:
- Utilize your mastery of Brake Press operations to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimise production processes and enhance efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure peak performance of equipment.
- Uphold our commitment to quality control, ensuring every product meets our rigorous standards.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the Brake Press machine for operation by installing and aligning the necessary tooling, dies and fixtures. This involves interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to ensure the correct setup for each job.
- Operate the Brake Press machine to bend or form metal sheets according to precise measurements and specifications outlined in blueprints or work orders.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery to keep it in optimal working condition. This including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
- Monitor production process to ensure parts meet quality standard. This including inspecting finished components for defects, measuring dimensions, and making adjustments as needed to maintain consistency and precision.
Requirements:
- Previous proven experience working in metal fabrication, machining and manufacturing environments as a Brake Press Setter Operator working in an automotive field would be desirable.
- Full understanding of different type of metals and their properties is essential for Brake Press toolmakers.
- Familiarity with various materials commonly used in manufacturing process such as steel, aluminium, and stainless steel.

The working hours for the successful Brake Press Setter Operator are:
Monday to Thursday 07:00am - 16:00pm and an early finish on a Friday 07:00am - 12:00pm
The rate of pay for the Brake Press Setter Operator is dependent on experience varying from £16.00 per hour to £18.00 per hour, this will be discussed during interview process and based upon a short working trial.
