We are looking for a friendly, caring person who enjoys working with children, to work in our successful Breakfast and After School Clubs (‘Runway Club’) between Monday and Friday during term time. This could be a morning and Afternoon role for one person or mornings and Afternoons split between two people.
You will join our friendly and supportive team delivering engaging and fun wrap around childcare. The successful candidate will be a good team player, confident in dealing with pupils and parents and able to think creatively and pro-actively. This role has previously led to others within our school, so if you are interested in gaining experience in childcare and education it could be a great starting point.
Duties include:
- Engaging with pupils in activities, conversation and play,
- Assisting with planning, organising and managing activities for children,
- Preparing and serving simple foodstuffs,
- Meeting and greeting parents and providing them with feedback on their child’s time at the club,
- Attending training where applicable, including First Aid,
- Maintaining the safety and wellbeing of children attending at all times.
The successful candidate will:
- Preferably have experience of working with children, though this is not essential,
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding,
- Be flexible and a team player,
- Have a friendly and engaging manner,
- Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and patience,
- Have strong communication and people skills to relate to and support pupils and parents.
We can offer:
- If you have children at our school they would be entitled to attend the club for free,
- Training and support to help your induction and development,
- A rewarding and fulfilling role within our school community,
- A welcoming, dedicated and supportive team; in our last Ofsted inspection it was noted that ‘Staff morale is high, they are proud to be members of the school’.
- Happy, polite and well-behaved children.
Application Procedure:
You will find lots of information about the school on our website. If you would like to request an application pack or have any questions about the role or the school, please contact Caroline Gontard, our Senior Admin Officer, at recruitment@cove-jun.hants.sch.uk or c.gontard@cove-jun.hants.sch.uk.
