The Brokerage Manager is a critical member of the wider commissioning team in Adults and reports to the Head of Commissioning, Adults, working closely with commissioners, providers and wider social care colleagues.
The post is a real opportunity to work in collaboration with partners to ensure effective, efficient and productive solutions to meeting the needs of adults with support needs.
The small brokerage team seek and broker all placements and packages of care/support for adults with needs, including for people with learning disabilities, older people, physical disabilities and mental health. The team negotiate the price of packages and liaise with social workers and also with colleagues in the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) for whom the team also broker placements and packages.

Your next role
You will be working with Commissioners and partners to develop, evaluate and manage the different services within Adult Social Care to encourage a vibrant, cost efficient and flexible local care market place.
The key elements of the role will be to:
- Leadership style of working within a team environment and with wider stakeholders and partners
- Self-motivated and able to work with team members to maintain a high level of service delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with both customers and stakeholders.
- Takes total responsibility for work undertaken and responsibilities and promotes a reflective and learning team environment.
- Takes a coaching approach to support 1:1s and development.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, able to communicate data effectively, to a diverse audience.
- Able to use own initiate and think laterally and to take a solution focused approach.
- Ability to escalate issues appropriately and understanding of boundaries relating to the role.
- The Brokerage Manager will make decisions, on a daily basis, relating to financial systems and the brokerage of all support requirements. Advice role may relate to implementation of process and systems, related changes and Corporate/Government legislative requirements.

A knowledge of health, social care or services would be an asset but an attention to detail, working to a high standard and ability to work in partnership will be the key skills required.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
