Active Recruitment are working with an Outstanding Mainstream School in East London with a specialist on-site Hearing-Impaired Unit, who are seeking a strong BSL Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting learners with hearing impairments. The school is well equipped to support pupils with a broad and inclusive curriculum as well as facilities, it is known for its positive culture and learning environment, where students are supported to be happy, safe and stimulated throughout their learning day.
Your role within the unit will be to support and assist with the development of students with hearing impairments. You will have the opportunity to work with visually impaired students, in which you will be able to develop an understanding for tactile signing as well as utilising BSL.

The ideal BSL Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience in supporting individuals with Hearing Impairments
- The ability to assess the individual learning needs of pupils
- A positive attitude, the ability to empathise and a willingness to develop and learn on the job
