SEMH Provision in The London Borough of Lewisham is recruiting a well-qualified BTEC Teacher of PE/ PE Teacher for a Monday to Friday fixed term contract. This role is to start straight away!

Daily Rate: £140 - £170 a day
Days of Work:Monday to Friday
State-Of-The-Art SEMH provision located in the Lewisham borough, that caters to children diagnosed with Behavioural difficulties & SEMH who have EHCPs. This provision has exemplary teaching practitioners, Senior Leader Team & behavioural support staff. The SEN Teachers at this Alternative Provision have been graded a minimum of “Good” in lesson observations. Teachers are well-qualified with a teaching certificate (ie PGCE / Teach First /SCITT/ CertEd/ GTP / QTS/QTLS).
You are a resilient & qualified teacher and able to successfully de-escalate behavioural difficulties as they arise in your small classes (typically 5-7 pupils per class). You will have a strong background teaching SEN pupils (ie SEMH/ CAMHS / ASC/ ADHD/ Challenging Behaviour/ ODD/ ADD/Complex Needs/ EHCPs etc). It’s really important that you are able to build a strong rapport with children and able to engage them well and have experience teaching BTEC lessons to PE/ Sports pupils. In an education setting.
- Must have a Teaching Certificate/Qualification; ie PGCE / ITT/GTP/ Teach First /SCITT / QTS/ QTLS)
- Experienced BTEC PE Teachers (MPS or UPS) are welcome to apply!
- Your SEN Experience; Complex Needs/ADHD/ASD/ ASC/CAMHS/ADD/SEMH/ODD / Behaviour/ EHCPs)
- As a qualified teacher, you must have worked in either a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ Alternative provision (AP)/ Secondary School/ SEN School
- Have taught a number of different sport; Basketball/Football/ Athletics/ Handball/ Cricket etc at KS3 & KS4/ BTEC
- Can demonstrate a minimum of a “Good” lesson
- Experience teaching from KS3 - GCSE/ BTEC PE
- Available to start a new post immediately
