The Role
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Sport and Health Teacher to join our well-resourced Sport and Health Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about Sport and Health. We are a dynamic, friendly, adaptable and open minded team which constantly strives for excellence.
The Person
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher of Sport and Health who can inspire and excite students about their learning. They will have high expectations of their students and have an innovative approach to curriculum ideas, supporting all pupils gaining a PE and Sport qualification.
The ability to work within a team is essential and candidates will be expected to have good ICT skills. A sound knowledge and understanding of best practice in the accurate assessment of student work is essential.

Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status within the relevant subject area.
• Experience of teaching all or most of the age range served by the School (11 – 18)
• Well qualified in the appropriate subject area and/or participation in relevant in-service courses and/or further professional study
The Curriculum and Students
• Successful experience of organising, delivering and evaluating the teaching of the subject area both with regard to methodology as well as content
• Understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum and developments in teaching of GCSE and post 16 within the subject area
• Understanding of and experience in developing cross-curricular links
• Evidence of commitment to, and enthusiasm in raising of standards and achievement
• Evidence of the ability to oversee and promote effective participation of students in lessons
