Job Description:
Cosworth are seeking a highly talented and motivated individual to join our Central Quality team on full-time, permanent contract. You will provide support for the resolution of internal and external concerns, to continually improve quality levels and ensure that the customer’s quality requirements are met.
The Role:
- Participate in PFMEA/ Lesson Learnt activities.
- Development of Pre-launch, & Production control plans.
- Support completion of AMS check sheets, including: gauge plans & production gauging availability, measurement system analysis, and completion of gauging Instruction documents.
- Support development of LWIs.
- SIR completion for the engine assembly.
- Input into PQS & Component specifications – ensure these quality standards are available to build shop personnel, together with necessary visual aids/templates.
- Co-ordination and completion of Customer production part approval (e.g. PPAP) documentation for approval of engine build process by customer representative.
- First point of contact for customer quality issues. Analysis of customer concerns/ returns – development of improvement plans/8Ds.
- First point of contact for internal quality concerns. Allocation to build shop/SQA/ machine shops/engineering.
- For programmes in production own/lead the fault reporting system, run regular fault review meetings, allocate tasks and follow up task owners for timely resolutions.
- Completion of Process Audits as required to ensure adherence to the defined process.
- Continuous Improvement activity – based on outputs from KPI data.
- Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by your line manager.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
- Substantial experience (at least 5 years) as a Quality Engineer in a similar
manufacturing environment. - Solid understanding of the interpretation of engineering drawings, GD&T & quality
standards. - IT literate.
- Understanding of Automotive APQP and PPAP processes.
- Understanding of quality tools and techniques, SPC, 8D, problem solving and
reporting. - Understanding of recognised quality systems AS9100/ISO9001.
You will be contracted to 39 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday - 07:30 to 16:30
Friday - 07:30 to 15:30
