We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced safety leader who is passionate about housing and the safety of residents living in our community. You will be supported by a range of Building Safety, compliance and fire safety professionals to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of safety across housing portfolios and to drive the safer futures initiative. As the Building Safety Manager you will be managing a team of Building Safety Advisers and strategically oversee all aspects of safety with regards to a portfolio of High Rise Buildings. You will be working closely with colleagues across all parts of the Housing Services, the wider council teams and its partners. You will lead on engagement with residents, local councillors and other stakeholders on implementing requirements of new safety legislation across the board.
You will have experience of working in a built environment and understand how resident safety is its key component. Previous experience in working within a local authority or similar organisation is a bonus as you will be required to advise key stakeholders and interpret a range of complex health and safety issues in relation to residential buildings to a wide range of audience.
We offer hybrid working providing you with the flexibility to work from home and, in our offices in Hackney Central, whilst managing your own workload around site visits. You will have a NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience in the built environment.
