Building Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in the Northeast is currently recruiting for a Repairs Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to assess and evaluate the condition of properties, conducting surveys, and identifying necessary repairs and maintenance work.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Collaborating with the Repairs and Maintenance team to develop cost estimates and project plans for identified works
• Providing accurate and detailed reports on survey findings, including documentation of defects, recommended remedial actions, and estimated costs
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, health and safety guidelines, and industry best practices
• Liaising with internal stakeholders, contractors, and clients to coordinate survey activities and ensure timely completion of projects

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a valid driving license and access to a vehicle for travel between properties and sites. You will also need to be asbestos awareness trained, with a thorough understanding of asbestos-related risks and precautions

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Relevant trade background (e.g., construction, building maintenance) with a solid understanding of building structures, materials, and defects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately assess and evaluate property conditions
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to various stakeholders

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £23 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
