Your new role
This is a newly created role to help the owners of Gorgate Farm, Rosie & Alex Begg. They're pioneers in regenerative horticulture, with a passion for engaging communities in where their food comes from, soil health and biodiversity. They oversaw the successful purchase and re-launch of Gressenhall's community pub and are lead partners in the Wendling Beck Environment Project - a pioneering habitat creation, nature restoration and regenerative farming project, spanning almost 2,000 acres of land north of the market town of Dereham in Norfolk, UK. We have a small farm team - and we hope you will consider being the next addition to it!
What you'll need to succeed
- Have previous experience in either agriculture and/or property management. Either are ideal, both are preferable.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Word and excel and be willing to learn new systems
- Have experience with accountancy software, ideally Xero.
- Be fluent in English with excellent written & verbal communication skills & high attention to detail
- Enjoy being a flexible team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Be able to drive and have your own transport due to the remote location
- Share the Gorgate vision and core values; be environmentally conscious & have an interest in being part of a community.

- Be proactive: You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. You use your initiative to prioritise whilst managing multiple deadlines. You're able to manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, around the day-to-day enquiries and correspondence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and paying invoices
- PA duties - diary management and dealing with emails, letters and calls
- Assist in the maintaining of databases and filling
- Working with the Farm Manager for Red Tractor and Health and Safety audits
- Liaise with contractors, along with the Director
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks designated by the Directors & Operations Manager.
- Assist with processing monthly payroll
- Create and maintain documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Maintain electronic and paper-based records
- Process expenses claims
