The Snr Business Analyst will perform Business Analysis duties in line with the delivery of the Products within the Banking & Treasury Services Change Portfolio.
Snr Business Analyst
The Snr Business Analyst will work closely with the relevant Product Owner to ensure the correct level of upfront analysis is competed to inform the design of both the Operating and App Development Models. They will be responsible for supporting the Product Owner in writing EPICs, taking the lead in writing Stories and maintaining good ADO discipline.
The Snr Business Analyst requires a forensic mind-set with a passion for "understanding how things work". The ability to pull an overall complex picture together from stakeholder interviews, documentation and reviewing external market practice. Create documentation where none existing and provide metrics and evidence to help validate decisions and strategic direction.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Product Strategy
Carry out analysis as directed by the Product Manager and Product Owner required to inform strategic direction of the Product in question. This early analysis should consider market trends, internal needs and client demands.
Product Design
During the design phase react to the emerging needs for further analysis and metrics to continue to support informed decision making as the Product moves through its design lifecycle; ensuring both Operating Model and App Development designs are aligned.
Product Delivery
As the Product moves through the process into delivery ensure that close contact is maintained and the appropriate support is given to the Product Owner, Solutions Architects, Testers and Developers to ensure that eventual Product outcome meets the desired success criteria. The Snr Business Analyst will have a key role during both the Operating Mode ad App development delivery phase - acting as an SME and key stakeholder in supporting the testing teams: in terms of understanding the impacts of fixes and changes.
Special topics/projects
New initiatives, market events and or industry regulations could lead to the need to conduct rapid impact analysis studies, followed by reasoned options as a response. In these situations, the Snr Business Analyst would work directly with the Business Architect and or Product Manager in a small team to deliver the desired outputs.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Market Knowledge of Cash Products, Global Payments and Industry Change
- Previous experience working large scale, complex change initiatives.
- Experience with working with Agile delivery methods, specifically Scaled Agile.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills written and verbal.
- Exposure and understanding of Project & Product Change methodologies.
- Professional Business Analysis qualification or evidence in-job learning in this area.
