We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team.
The role is either part time, 24 hours a week as a Business Development Manager which will involve customer interaction and face to face appointments with market centric activity. Or, we will also consider a full time position where your role will be split - so 24 hours/week will be focussed on Business Development and the remaining 16 hours/week will be focussed on event & group sales.

What will I be responsible for a Business Development Manager?
- Build strong working relationships with your hotel
- Research, identify new & lapsed business opportunities
- Ensure all hotel leads are followed up
- Manage accounts to drive revenue & growth
- With good communication, drive key relationships with the Key Accounts Team, Brand Sales and the General Manager
- Achieve revenue targets and KPIs
- Strategic sales activity, working closely with the hotel and commercial teams
- Manage and co-ordinate all re-negotiations
- Plan, prepare and proactively participate in monthly blitzes
- Co-ordinate with marketing department on new sales and incentives
- Be fully conversant with the hotel services, packages, promotions and special offers
- Attend appointments, client events, networking & industry events
- Competitor analysis
- Keep up to date with what’s new in sales, business & hospitality
Should you be interested in the full time position which also includes working within event sales, you will:
- Work closely with the wider Sales team
- Maximise sales across accommodation, meetings & events, conference & banqueting, promoting the hotel estate & facilities available
- Reactive sales - follow up, finalise and complete leads coming in from the central sales team as well as enquiries coming direct into the hotel
- Carry out site inspections/show rounds to potential guests & customers
Is this the role for me?
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality management
- Experience in selling Meetings & Events, large banqueting and corporate contracts
- Demonstratable account management experience coupled with signing clients on multi-year contracts
- Naturally adaptable to meet client needs
- Get to know your client so they feel special and not just a number
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Love to network!
- Passion for sales and thrive on achieving KPIs
- Basic understanding of systems and processes
- Adaptable and a team player
