Responsibilities
As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in their continued growth and success. You will be responsible for Business Development and supporting the estimating function putting together accurate and competitive tenders. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Business Development (70%):
- Develop and implement strategic Business Development plans to drive growth and expand our market share.
- Identify new business opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and foster long-term partnerships.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our services and establish a strong brand presence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client's specific requirements.
- Estimating (30%):
- Support the estimating team in compiling accurate and competitive tenders.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare detailed estimates and cost projections.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate pricing, resource allocation, and project feasibility.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor strategies to optimise our estimating processes.
- Drive the future pipeline of work by identifying and pursuing new tender opportunities.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience working as a Business Development Manager within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on drylining and associates trades
- Strong expertise in tendering and estimating functions, with a track record of successfully compiling competitive tenders.
- Exceptional business acumen and a strategic mindset to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients, negotiate contracts, and establish fruitful partnerships.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet and exceed business targets.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate project requirements, estimate costs, and assess project feasibility.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve personal and organisational success.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.
