Business Development Manager - South Wales And West

We now have the opportunity for a professional and passionate relationship builder to join us as a field based Mortgage Business Development Manager looking after the North east. This is a field based position covering these postcodes CF, NP, SA, LD, BS, SN and GL

The role is all about ensuring our Intermediary strategy is effectively promoted and we meet the needs of our intermediary partners. It very much works in partnership with our successful telephone team. Jointly (with your TBDM partner) working together and managing a group of Mortgage Intermediary brokers and firms, ensuring they get the best possible service and support from us.

Developing and encouraging good, high quality mortgage business in line with our business plans and facilitating the on-going relationship with our Intermediary Panel of brokers and firms are key parts of the role. We have a clear passion to achieve good quality appointments and increase the quantity of submissions to help us grow within the intermediary market, but this isn't a sales based role, just purely building and supporting relationships,

Representing the Society getting the best out of these relationships for all parties, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks, working in an engaging, consultative and collaborative way are also responsibilities.

To be successful it’s essential that you have current experience in the mortgage intermediary sector, either as a Business Development Manager or account management; however this does not need to be in the field, applications from Mortgage Telephone BDM's would certainly be considered.

You’ll have excellent communications skills, with evidence of an ability to build rapport and trust with mortgage business professionals and stakeholders across all levels. The ability to in a consultative way to build long term business relationships, whilst maintaining reputation and integrity will also be important traits.

Being extremely organised, proactive and self-motivated will be important. You’ll have the ability to effectively negotiate and influence with a sound commercial knowledge and solid understanding of the UK mortgage market.

As a field based role you’ll be responsible for your own diary and where you need to be. Considering the geographical spread of the role you’ll need a full driving licence and for your well-being, you’ll ideally live on or close by the patch you’ll cover. (detailed above)
