Role: Business Development Manager(Utilities / Energy - Public Sector)

Summary:
Our client is a well-established energy consultancy business looking for a Business Development Manager to be accountable for generating new energy procurement business from prospective customers across the public sector and upselling and cross selling Carbon services. Leads will be generated by an internal telesales team, with an expectation of 5 customer Teams calls per week. The ideal candidate will have experience of selling in the public sector - flex and I&C would also be useful. APPLY TODAY!
Key responsibilities:
- Convert leads generated by a telesales team.
- Develop relationships with senior decision makers and customer representative groups.
- Arrange and conduct meetings with prospective customers to present their proposition
- Obtain customer data to generate accurate quotations for services and collaborate with Bid Co-ordinator to submit proposals and tender responses.
- Manage customer relationships throughout the process to maximize success rates.
- Maintain detailed records of activities and cultivate a robust pipeline of opportunities
Skills and experience required:
- Strong track record of sales to large public sector organisations or I&C
- Energy Industry experience, selling fixed and flex contracts
- Experience of building and delivering a pipeline of sales opportunities
- Proven track record of delivering against sales targets
- Co-ordinate the delivery of industry leading bids and proposals
- Able to build rapport quickly and be influential within teams, peers, and stakeholders -
- Understanding of Public Sector Procurement - highly desirable
