BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Based in Portsmouth or in Newport, Isle of Wight
(with regular travel to work from our Portsmouth Training Centre)

At HTP Apprenticeship College we deliver a range of full time and Apprenticeship programmes and are seeking to recruit an additional member of staff to join our Business Development team which promotes and grows our existing business across all programmes, but particularly apprenticeships.
Candidates must be able to liaise with applicants, HTP trainers and employers to maximise opportunities to maintain and grow numbers of learners and Apprentices on HTP programmes. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential.
· Candidates / learners require advice and guidance on HTP’s range of programmes and their particular elements and support in applying for some apprenticeship roles.
· HTP training staff need clear information on applicants and employers needs along with accessible data.
· Relationships with our many existing employers require good applicants and clear guidance on what certain programmes can do to enhance their business. There are also many employers who do not currently benefit from the government funded training available in Apprenticeship programmes and promoting that to those employers is also a role played by the Business Development team.
Previous experience in a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT role would be desirable but is not essential as HTP will support suitable candidates to acquire such experience and relevant qualifications should they demonstrate the necessary drive and determination to succeed. The ability to follow recruitment processes and quality procedures is very important.
Candidates must have;
· Access to their own transport as the posts will involve visiting learners and employers in the work place on the Isle of Wight and the mainland.
· A good academic level of both Maths and English. (minimum GCSE Grade C or 4)
· A decent awareness and knowledge of local business and its requirements.
· Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The vacancy is full time and attracts a good remuneration and benefits package dependent upon experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a range of Training and development which will be fully supported by HTP. Please note that an HTP working day is from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4-30pm Friday.
