This key role involves promoting event opportunities across a range of diverse and versatile spaces for conferences, banqueting, meetings, receptions and exclusive hire. An ambassador for the venue, this role will be the face of the business, selling the venue on both a domestic and international level, working closely with city tourism agencies and industry partners.

What you’ll do
Sales & Events
• Generate new business through the proactive and reactive selling of the business.
• Support the Business Sales Manager in achieving income generation targets set in the annual business plan.
• Build and develop relationships with key event organisers, acting as a first point of contact for sales enquiries with the aim to convert them into sales.
• Work with clients to plan and deliver exceptional events that deliver world class experiences for their guests, including all aspects of planning and delivery.
• Work closely with the Event Planning and Hospitality Operations teams to ensure a seamless experience for clients for their event.
• Assist the Business Sales Manager on seasonal sales plans for the department.
• Represent the business at industry and networking events.
• Organise participation at trade shows including registration, travel arrangements, securing appointments and ensuring follow-up is completed.
• Occasional travel and attendance at events internationally, across the UK and domestically.
• Facilitate site visits and familiarisation trips with clients and potential buyers.
• Carry out bench marking and research exercises against other venues, products and destinations.

Marketing
• Work with the marketing team to develop marketing and promotional collateral to drive business and revenue outcomes.
• Monitor all sales and marketing activity against event enquiries and bookings providing an analysis of results.

Communications and Administration
• Work as part of the wider team to develop contacts within the business and events community.
• Maintain accurate client file records and sales activity on the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
• Maintain an efficient and effective relationship with all internal departments.
• Contribute as a pro-active member of the Business and Leisure Sales team.
• Ensure the accurate contracting of all client business including handover to the Finance and Event Planning teams.
• Proactive and positive approach to embracing and being compliant to organisational Health and Safety Culture.

About you
Essential:
• Over 2 years’ experience gained in a similar sales role within hospitality, tourism, event management, marketing, hotel or venue sales
• Strong knowledge of the tourism, business and events industry
• Ability to deal with a variety of clients in a professional and efficient manner
• Ability to identify and develop new sales opportunities
• Ability to be solutions focused and work calmly under pressure with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
• A proven ability to reach and exceed target
