Borders Analysis is a friendly and dynamic unit of around over 70 analysts, working together to deliver high quality, innovative analysis to support decision making on a wide range of Home Office priorities.
Our Business Support team plays a crucial role in the success of the unit, carrying out a number of functions that enable the leadership team to fulfil their roles effectively.

BA is geographically spread across three primary locations (London, Sheffield, and Croydon).
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Where this is the case, employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office. Applicants can discuss any specific questions with the Vacancy Holder.
Candidates will need to agree a base location of either Croydon, Manchester or Sheffield with a requirement for periodic attendance at other Home Office locations including (but not limited to): London, Croydon, Manchester and Sheffield.
In this exciting role, the candidate will be working in BA Admin team supporting and enabling the delivery goals of the wider BA unit. The team works as a Business Support centre, providing a range of essential services that support the Head of Unit, Senior Leadership Team, and analytical experts to achieve their collective goals.

Candidates should be well organised and demonstrate good judgement and time management skills.
They should have a flexible working approach, able to accommodate a range of different demands with the ability to work quickly while remaining calm under pressure. Good communication skills are key to the role as you will be working closely with multiple members of the senior leadership team and alongside other Business Support colleagues.
You will ideally have some experience of working in a similar role and should have a good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will take on a range of responsibilities:-
• Provide diary and inbox management support to the Head of Unit: arranging appointments, managing clashes, room bookings, travel and desk bookings, allocating tasks to calendar.
• Meeting support for the Unit: booking rooms and arranging large team meetings, arranging bulk travel.
• Wider Unit admin support including managing IT and stationery orders; maintaining the office environment.
• Monitor and respond to requests in the team’s inbox.
